Abstract

In the modern era, cultural preservation faces many challenges. Especially for younger generation, Generation Z that has been exposed and influenced by technology, globalization, and digital trends. In designing this animated comic, taking advantage of Generation Z’s role in cultural preservation by researching their preferences of traditional culture in modern media. In designing this animated comic, the writer took the topic of the legend of Reog Ponorogo. The iconic legend of traditional dance from Ponorogo regency. And then adapting the legend into a modern media such as animated comic. Using qualitative methods. Such as interviews, questionnaires. and literature reviews. I tis hoped that this designing process of animated comic may bring the legend of Reog Ponorogo into more accessible means for generation Z..
