Pengaruh Korupsi Terhadap Kepercayaan Masyarakat pada Pemerintah Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara
Abstract
This research aims to analyze the impact of corruption on public trust in the government of Kutai Kartanegara and to determine the extent of this impact. The research employs a quantitative approach, with the population consisting of residents of Kutai Kartanegara. A probability sampling method using cluster random sampling was applied, resulting in a sample size of 100 respondents. Primary data was collected through a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. Data analysis was performed using simple regression analysis with IBM SPSS Statistics version 22 for Windows. The results indicate that corruption affects public trust in the Kutai Kartanegara government, evidenced by a coefficient of determination value of 31%, meaning that corruption accounts for 31% of the variance in public trust. This suggests that elements such as abuse of power, misuse of public funds, betrayal of trust, and personal gain collectively impact the integrity, competence, consistency, loyalty, and transparency of the Kutai Kartanegara government. Consequently, the higher the level of corruption within the Kutai Kartanegara government, the lower the public trust in the government.
